E³ Framework

The Engage, Educate, Elevate (E³) framework is how Rising Tide puts the mission into daily practice with youth and families in Portsmouth and its surrounding communities. The E³ framework describes a complete pathway of support for youth and families. It is grounded in research on positive youth development, which shows that young people thrive when they experience supportive relationships, high-quality learning opportunities, and clear pathways to contribution and opportunity, especially in community and after-school settings.

Engage

 

Engage focuses on relationships and trust. Rising Tide meets youth and families where they are, listens first, and creates consistent and welcoming spaces.

  • Culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices

  • Safe and predictable environments for youth

  • Partnerships with schools, churches, and neighborhood organizations

 

INTENDED OUTCOMES

  • Youth and families feel seen, respected, and welcomed

  • Stronger connections between home, school, and community

  • Increased awareness of and participation in Rising Tide programs

Educate

 

Educate focuses on skills, knowledge, and learning experiences. Rising Tide supports academic growth, social and emotional development, and real-world skills that prepare young people for future education, employment, and leadership.

  • Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics learning

  • Social and emotional learning and mindfulness practices

  • Growth in social and emotional skills such as self-awareness, self-management, and responsible decision-making

Elevate

 

Elevate focuses on opportunity, leadership, and long-term mobility. Rising Tide helps youth transition from participation to leadership and supports families in enhancing their economic stability and community influence.
