These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Rising Tide Youth Movement website located at www.rtyouth.org (the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. About Rising Tide Youth Movement
Rising Tide Youth Movement (“Rising Tide,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a nonprofit organization that provides information about our mission, programs, events, volunteer opportunities, partnerships, and ways to support our work.
2. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated Effective Date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
3. Eligibility and Use by Minors
The Site is intended for a general audience, including parents and guardians, donors, volunteers, and community partners. If you are under 13, do not submit personal information through the Site. If you are 13 to 17, you may use the Site only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
4. Privacy and Tracking Technologies
Your use of the Site is also subject to our Privacy Policy. The Site uses cookies and similar technologies and may use Google Analytics and Meta Pixel to understand Site usage and measure outreach effectiveness. Please review our Privacy Policy for details.

We are committed to digital accessibility. Please review our Accessibility Statement for information on standards, known limitations, and how to request assistance or report a barrier.
6. Donations, Ticketing, and Payments
A. Third party payment processing
Donations or ticket purchases initiated from the Site may be processed through third party platforms, including Zeffy. When you complete a donation or purchase through a third party platform, your transaction is subject to that platform’s terms and policies.
B. Voluntary contribution to Zeffy
Zeffy may invite donors to add an optional voluntary contribution to support Zeffy’s operations. That voluntary contribution is separate from your donation to Rising Tide and can be adjusted by the donor during checkout.
C. Donation receipts and acknowledgements
We may use donor information we receive from payment platforms to issue receipts, send acknowledgements, maintain donor records, and comply with financial and legal obligations.
D. Refunds and chargebacks
Donations are typically nonrefundable. If you believe a donation or payment was made in error, contact us promptly. Refund requests, if any, are evaluated case by case and may be limited by third party processor rules. Chargebacks and payment disputes may result in restricted access to certain Site features.
7. Program and Event Information
Information on the Site about programs, events, schedules, locations, or availability may change. We strive for accuracy, but we do not guarantee that all information is current at all times. For certain programs or events, additional terms, waivers, permissions, media releases, or codes of conduct may apply. Those additional terms will govern for that specific activity.
8. Permitted Use of the Site
We grant you a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to access and use the Site for your personal, informational, and noncommercial purposes. This license is subject to your compliance with these Terms.
9. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
A. Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
B. Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, accounts, systems, or networks.
C. Interfere with the Site’s operation, security, or performance, including by introducing malware or conducting denial of service attacks.
D. Scrape, harvest, or collect information from the Site through automated means without our written permission.
E. Post or transmit content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
F. Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organization.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site, including text, graphics, photographs, videos, logos, designs, and the compilation of content, is owned by or licensed to Rising Tide and is protected by intellectual property laws. “Rising Tide Youth Movement” and related names, slogans, and logos may be protected as trademarks or service marks.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any Site material except as necessary for ordinary viewing or as otherwise expressly permitted in writing by Rising Tide.
11. User Submissions and Feedback
A. Submissions
If you submit information through forms, emails, or other Site features, you represent that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to provide it.
B. Feedback
If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback, you grant Rising Tide a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty free right to use, reproduce, modify, and implement that feedback for any lawful purpose, without compensation to you.
12. Links to Third Party Sites and Services
The Site may include links to third party websites or embedded tools. We do not control third party sites and are not responsible for their content, security, or privacy practices. Your use of third party sites is at your own risk and subject to their terms and policies.
13. Disclaimers
The Site and all content are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rising Tide disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.
Nothing on the Site is intended to be, and should not be construed as, legal, financial, medical, or professional advice. You should consult appropriate professionals for advice tailored to your situation.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rising Tide will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rising Tide’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100) or the amount you paid to Rising Tide through the Site in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Rising Tide and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or related to your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.
16. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if necessary to protect the Site, our users, or our operations. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law.
17. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Site will be brought in state or federal courts located in Virginia, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
18. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional posted policies referenced here, constitute the entire agreement between you and Rising Tide regarding the Site.
